Boise-based Fisher’s Document Systems Selected As Key Technology Vendor For Idaho Power

June 18, 2010 – Boise, Idaho

Fisher’s Document Systems announced today that Idaho Power Company has selected Fisher’s as its copier and print management vendor. Fisher’s Document Systems is providing Idaho Power integrated printing and imaging solutions, including platforms that reduce printing costs and decrease environmental impact.

“Idaho Power is committed to achieving the greatest ownership benefits from our suppliers to better serve the needs of our customers and increase the value to our stakeholders,” said Gerry Miller, Idaho Power Enterprise Procurement manager. “Fisher’s enterprise-wide printing and imaging solution, which incorporates the industry’s best practices, was the best choice for our needs. We are confident that Fisher’s will support and optimize our equipment fleet and improve employee workflows.”

Structuring Fisher’s to be able to attract large organizations like Idaho Power has been a key initiative for CEO Chris Taylor. “Fisher’s dramatic growth over the last several years has required significant investment in our infrastructure, human talent, business processes, and company culture. We are now able to handle very large, complex printing and imaging environments with a nationwide deployment. And, as a locally owned company, Fisher’s can handle these sophisticated environments while keeping decision-making local and ensuring investments stay in Idaho,” says Taylor.

A significant factor in the decision was Fisher’s ability to demonstrate a cost-savings to Idaho Power. Gary Mahn, Fisher’s Chairman, explains the consultative approach that Fisher’s embraces: “Since Fisher’s is owned by Idahoans and not by a manufacturer, we can recommend and implement the best products for our clients’ needs without having a single-manufacturer bias. In these difficult economic times, the consultative approach we use at Fisher’s results in much appreciated savings for our customers,” says Mahn.

With the Boise area feeling the pinch of a recession, Fisher’s has been able to continue to grow.   “Projects like we are doing for Idaho Power obviously contribute to our continued growth,” says Mahn. “As the successful supplier for this project, doing business with them allows us to support the local economy,” says Idaho Power’s Miller.
